Sunny times in Crail

Friday, April 22nd, 2011

What a great spell of weather we are having in Crail for the holidays!

Over the Easter holidays we have seen a real mix of guests. Last night we had Swiss, Germans, Italians, Scottish and Canadians in the house!

Last weekend saw an Imp rally in Crail, you have to smile when you see them! One little beauty based at Caiplie for the weekend was like a magnet, attracting admirers gathering for a look, a chat and memories of the 1970′s

That weekend we also had people with their dog Millie who picked up a medal at the dog agility champ’s in St Andrews and the ubiquitous American golfers playing championship courses.

Ah! variety is the spice of life….

Chasing the peleton

Monday, April 11th, 2011

With only five weeks until my early summer event, The Etape Caledonia I am starting to pick up the training a little bit. What a glorious weekend for getting out on the bike that was. Every time I am out I am amazed at how lovely NE Fife is for cycling. There are so many great back roads with very little traffic, rolling hills amongst rich farm land.

OK so it is a bit of a mission finding hills to match the Perthshire hills we will be racing on in May but with a bit of planning you can build a few climbs into most training runs.
I was pretty please with my 43 miles on Saturday, pretty close to the minimum required 13mph!
I will try and get out with the Crail boys during the week to practice my peleton skills!
