My favourite street in the world - South Street St Andrews is going to become even better as a retail experience if that is possible.
A sun drenched historic street bookended by The West Port and The Cathedral it is already home to some of Scotland best 'indies'; The Highland Chocolatier, I J Mellis, Kerachar's, Spokes - a couple of decent pubs and cafes.
Established in St Andrews in 1908 - a fourth generation Italian gelato - Janettas adds colour and flavours to South Street as well as a long queue on sunny days.
But are things about to change? Is the queue about to shorten? An interloper from the West Coast is soon to arrive - Nardini's of Largs is set to open on South Street. A well established favourite on the West coast since 1935 can they take market share on South Street?
It is about to get messy on South Street - St Andrews style!
Janetta's is 12 miles from Caiplie House. Nardini's is 12.25 miles from Caiplie House - you decide
